China was a country in the midst of transformation: political, social and economic. An\nindustry full of potential, but still with a long way to go in terms of design, global outlook and\nconnection to international markets. I visited Foshan before it became the world\u2019s ceramic\ncapital. I explored Shenzhen before it turned into the Silicon Valley of Asia. I toured factories,\nspoke to local entrepreneurs and came to understand one key truth: China wasn\u2019t just going to manufacture for itself.
